On May 20th, Llandaff Cathedral will play host to a very special charity concert featuring the famous Finnish choir, Muntra Musikanter.
The concert is being organised by Mark Burrows, who has a history of promoting and putting on concerts all over the world, and wherever possible, tries to have a charitable aspect to help support local communities. Muntra Musikanter is one of the best-known choirs in Finland, with an age range of 20 to 78 years old. Their arrival in Cardiff is driven by their admiration for the strong tradition of choral singing in Wales, and it’s sure to be a night of beautiful music.
Joining them on stage is Soprano, Ellen Williams. Ellen has been praised for her “poise and promise, her voice agile with silvery charm”. It promises to be an unforgettable evening of beautiful singing and enchanting performances.
The concert is being held in support of City Hospice and Calon Heart, Mark Burrows chose to support these charities as he has been aware of their excellent work for some time and wanted to help support them in any way possible.
Mark said,
“I’m very much looking forward to a great mix of music with first-rate singing from this special choir – and the beautiful voice of Ellen. We hope to raise a significant amount for these fantastic charities and contribute to their valuable work in the community.”
Fundraising & Events Manager, Mac Smith said,
“City Hospice is thrilled to have been chosen alongside Calon Hearts to support at their Spring Concert event. The funds raised will help us continue to care for patients and their families within the community of Cardiff”.
