Earlier this month volunteers and staff set the trend at The Village Hotel for the George Thomas Hospice Care Charity Fashion Show.

The sell-out show, hosted by local actor Matthew Doman and supported by fashion blogger Christy Llewellyn, showcased the high-quality fashion donations received in our charity shops across Cardiff.

Volunteers and staff turned out in their droves to support Whitchurch Shop Manager, Angela Parsons, in supporting the event and modelling. Categories included beach wear, man about town, and bridal wear.

Models were treated to hair and make up by Bauhaus to round off the event’s glamorous feel.

Victoria George-Veale wowed the audience with performances of new and classic songs such as Dusty Springfield’s classic, Son of a Preacher Man.

As one of those who braved the catwalk at our fabulous fashion show, I’d like to thank everyone who came along, but especially the audience.  They were truly great, and their cheering and clapping and warm welcome quickly banished the ‘first time nerves’ that we ‘models’ were feeling.  Their enthusiasm was infectious, and very soon the ‘models’ were swaggering about with all the confidence – if not quite the poise and svelte figures  – you’d find in the pages of Vogue magazine.  The evening proved that, far from being full of junk and old clothes, our shops are a real treasure trove of high quality, pre-owned clothes for all the family and for all ages and sizes  – all at amazing prices. – Mike Walsh, CEO

So far, the Fashion Show has raised over £2000 and was a resounding success. A massive well done to Angela and everyone involved!
