At City Hospice we are celebrating and thanking all of our wonderful volunteers during National Volunteers’ Week. We simply couldn’t manage without the support of our wonderful team of dedicated volunteers….over 330 of them!
We had hoped that we would be celebrating Volunteers’ Week in the beautiful grounds of Ty Hosbis. Due to the current situation with Covid-19 we’re unable to do that so we are recognising them in other ways.
Each of our volunteers has received a lovely City Hospice card the artwork created by our very own talented Fiona Rawlinson, Consultant in Palliative Care Medicine. We are sharing photos and stories of some of our volunteers throughout the week and have made this video to thank them all.

“I must say this is certainly a different way of celebrating Volunteers Week due to the current times. We are so sorry that we are all unable to come together to celebrate the outstanding contribution you provide to our charity
I truly mean it when I say that we could not do all that we do without you – our amazing, dedicated team of volunteers. You really are an inspirational bunch of people and you make me proud to work for such a fantastic charity. The work you do makes such a big difference to those we support.
You play such a huge part in spreading smiles and positively impacting the lives of everyone you meet. For that, I would like to sincerely thank you – not just today, but every day. We are really missing each and every one of you and we honestly can’t wait to welcome you back”
Our volunteers get involved in so many ways to help our charity. From volunteering at our Day Therapy Centre, within our garden, at one of our stores, as a patient driver, in our offices, at our bereavement coffee mornings or at our bucket collections/events.
