Cardiff Community Hubs holds a Wellbeing Walk to raise awareness and support Love Your Hospice Month.

Jane Clemence, who works for Cardiff’s Council Wellbeing Team combined a Wellbeing Walk with Love Your Hospice Month. Following the pandemic, spending time outdoors is proven to improve wellbeing. Various activities such as walks, social sessions and online activities were set up to support communities and individuals.

As Cardiff’s local hospice, we care for patients and their families at what can be the most difficult time of their lives. Love Your Hospice Month is a perfect opportunity to spread awareness about the incredible vital services that are provided.

Jane told us:

“I run various activities across the City and we wanted to combine a wellbeing walk with City Hospice who offers bereavement and counselling to the local community. City Hospice is a local charity used by many, and the support they give to both patients and their families is invaluable.

City Hospice is a valuable asset not just to the local community but to the families of the communities we serve and we hope that holding one of our walks as part of Love Your Hospice month will help raise awareness of the incredible work City Hospice provides.

Fundraising Coordinator, Dafydd Thomas said:

“It was a brilliant opportunity to join the wellbeing walk through the beautiful Bute Park on a lovely winter morning on Tuesday. It was great to see such positivity and effort from members of the community coming together to explore the outdoors and see wildlife in one of Cardiff’s impressive parks while we were able to discuss City Hospice’s vital work in palliative care for Cardiff. Thank you to all those who joined us for the wellbeing walk and thanks to Jane and the Cardiff Wellbeing Support Service for supporting City Hospice. I look forward to getting my walking boots on again soon!”
