Last week, on 1 September, we launched our brand new City Hospice charity shop on Cowbridge Road West, Ely.
The shop was opened by Patricia Guy, who is both a local patient and former Olympic athlete. Patricia was joined by her Clinical Nurse Specialist, Kath O’Connell.
Former gymnast Mrs Guy, who competed in the 1960 Rome Olympics, was told she had nine months to live after a second cancer diagnosis in 2011. She was joined by the Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan, Morfudd Meredith, and Mike Walsh, City Hospice CEO.
“Our new shop on Cowbridge Road West marks both the launch of our new identity as Cardiff’s City Hospice, and a new phase in the transformation of our shops to reflect the best that charity retail has to offer in the City. I know that this new shop with its bright, modern interior and easy parking, is going to appeal to a wide range of people, with a mix of donated and new high quality clothing, furniture and other household items. Please do drop in if you are passing – to buy, to donate or to volunteer – and pass the word on to your friends!” – Mike Walsh, City Hospice CEO
The new shop, located on 364-372 Cowbridge Road West, is the ideal location to pick up fashion, electrical, and furniture items as well as being an easy place to donate with ample free parking.
