We’d like to thank supporters, Watkins and Gunn, for their fantastic donation of £5,000.
The award-winning law firm, who have offices in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypool, arrived at City Hospice with a helium-filled balloon containing a golden ticket.
Linda Dack, Head of Private Client at Watkins and Gunn, said “We are very proud to have been able to support City Hospice in this way. In the work I have done with City Hospice, I have seen first-hand the incredible support they offer to patients. We were very fortunate to have a tour of their wonderfully bright and vibrant centre in Whitchurch and to meet some of their amazing team.”
This donation will help with the important work we’re doing. We’re a registered charity at the heart of Cardiff, providing specialist medical, nursing and end of life care to patients in their own homes. We offer counselling to adults and children, welfare benefits advice and day centres with a range of activities. We are also the only at-home palliative care provider for the city of Cardiff and need to raise a total of £2m to keep providing these specialist services.
Nicky Piper, City Hospice Corporate Relationships Manager, popped the balloon to reveal the glittering donation the company made to Cardiff’s local hospice. “We’re delighted with this donation and enjoyed the mystery behind the reveal! Watkins and Gunn have supported us greatly throughout the years so we thank them for their help. With this money, we can help more patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in homes across Cardiff.”
