Adele Pember from Dog Furiendly introduces us to Charlie and the Dog Furiendly family, as excitement builds for the City Hospice charity Dog Walk, Wag this Way which takes place on Sunday 29 March at Bute Park, Cardiff.

Charlie – Dog Furiendly
Wag This Way – Charlie’s Story:
“Us dogs usually introduce ourselves by sniffing bums, but I know you humans do things a little differently around here. So instead, I’ll send you a playful woof and sloppy kiss to you all! My name’s Charlie and I’m the Chief of Barketing for Dog Furiendly.
I consider myself a very lucky pooch. Not only do I get to suppawt amazing charities like City Hospice, but I also get to sniff out pubs, cafes, hotels, attractions and events where my humans can take me too. Dog Furiendly is like the TripAdvisor of the dog world. A community where we inspire other dog owners to create more fulfilling memories together, instead of leaving our fluffy butts at home.
Out of all the cities we work in across the UK, Cardiff holds a very special place in our hearts. This beautiful city, filled with plenty of wagging tails, inspired us to create Dog Furiendly so that more dog owners could find places to visit and events like Wag This Way. In fact, it all started after a soggy walk in Bute Park, and if you find us at Wag This Way, we’ll tell you the rest of the story!
Oh boy, my tail is wagging just thinking about Wag This Way 2020! Last year’s event was so much fun for us furry kind. We got to enjoy the ultimate walkies in a huge group with so much to sniff and plenty of new friends to greet. After the walk we even tucked into a bag of goodies from Burns Pet Food.
Of course, the humans had a great time too with entertainment from Wyburn & Wayne. They spent most of the day trying to get the top score on the Dog Furiendly Sling The Sausage board!
Wag This Way is plenty of fun for all the family to enjoy, all while raising funds for such an important cause. Instead of donating bucket loads of gravy bones, we’re raising real money to support the hard working staff who provide essential care for those who need it the most. How are we doing that? With a show-stopping dog show of course!
This year, we’re hosting a dog show at the end of the walk to find the most Fabulous Fella, Loveliest Lady, Precious Puppy, Best Rescue, Golden Oldie and the Waggiest Tail. Then ending with the best double act, which may be tough to beat since we have Wyburn & Wayne as event hosts (no I wasn’t paid in gravy bones to say that).
You can be in with a chance of winning a rosette and tasty prizes from Burns.
So that’s a wrap from me, I could talk all day but I’ve got some holes to dig in the garden. If you’re joining us for Wag This Way, head over to the Dog Furiendly stall and give me a cuddle!”
Kind Woofs, Charlie.
Adele Pember from Dog Furiendly said, “Our tails are wagging to support and fundraise for City Hospice at Wag This Way. This year we’ll be hosting a show stopping dog show, complete with rosettes and prizes from Burns Pet Food.”
“All dogs who are taking part in the walk will have the opportunity to compete in categories such as Fabulous Fella, Loveliest Lady, Precious Puppy, Best Rescue, Golden Oldie and more.”
“If we can even get 14 dogs involved with the dog show, that pays for an hour of essential nursing care for someone in Cardiff with a terminal illness.”
