The hospice has received some TLC this summer with more exciting changes in development as well.
In early June we welcomed Capitol Decorators to sand and treat the exterior of the hospice windows. Our beautiful wooden windows are a big part of the character of the hospice and since the work has been completed they look better than ever.
It’s not just the windows that have had a makeover either. You might remember in May we were lucky enough to be able to have our long-time supporters Zurich donate their own time to help our gardeners begin work on a brand new water feature. The team worked tremendously hard digging out the area and erecting the pergola and also relayed a lot of the paving and turf. The new water feature is now completed and looks stunning. It can be seen from our day rooms much to the delight of our patients and visitors.
Our garden fence was also treated to a fresh coat of paint. We are very fortunate to have such great corporate supporters, recently a group from Cardiff’s Sapiens donated their time to their local hospice and spent a day in our garden, preening and preparing the area around the fence ready for painting and then spent the rest of the day painting it. The job took 10 people and the entire day to complete. They did a fantastic job and were a pleasure to invite into the hospice.
If you are a regular support or have signed up to our newsletters then you are probably aware that we are looking to renovate the ground floor of the hospice. Recently we were visited by an architect to draw up some plans. The project has not begun yet but we are very excited for the next steps.
