This October Danny Munn and Karl Reinholdt will experience the trip of a lifetime; they will trek the breathtaking foothills of the Himalayas and take on the Dalai Lama Trek to support City Hospice.

Over the 11 days Danny and Karl will take on a challenging 52km trek across this colourful region of North India, which lies in the heart of the world’s highest mountain range. They will pass Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries with the spectacular Himalayan mountain range as our backdrop, before ending their journey at the iconic Taj Mahal. For both men the trip means that they can make a difference to the patients cared for by City Hospice.

On discussing the Dalai Lama Trek for City Hospice, Karl shared;

“I am supporting City Hospice, due to the care they provide for families who are fighting and living with cancer. My uncle died of cancer just 3 years ago, so the work of the charity means a great deal to me”.

City Hospice Dalai Lama Trek 2019

“The Dalai Lama trek is the ideal opportunity to combine two passions of mine, trekking and fighting the good fight. We are looking forward to seeing the natural beauty of a landscape mostly untouched.

I am not afraid or nervous as such, I’m just hoping for an injury free trek. I know I will miss my family the most.

We realise this will be a challenge, but I know the outstanding work of City Hospice will keep us motivated. I’m sure upon completion we will hopefully appreciate life and living a bit more”.

Daisy Magill, City Hospice’s Fundraising Officer said:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Danny and Karl for taking on this challenge for City Hospice. They have raised a fantastic amount as well as awareness already, and they still have a few weeks to go. We wish them all the best from the whole of the City Hospice team.
