City Hospice’s Rudolph Run will return to Cardiff this December, with 29 schools taking part in a sponsored run or walk to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, City Hospice has once again invited children from its local community to choose a date and distance for their Rudolph Run, and to spread festive cheer by wearing reindeer antlers as they take part. Funds raised will support families across Cardiff, affected by terminal or life-limiting illness, to create lasting memories this Christmas.

A wide range of schools are participating in this year’s challenge including:

Busy Bees Llandaff City, Clych-Y-Parc, Darlings Buds Nursery, Little Explorers Nursery, The Hollies Nursery (Canton) and Ysgol Feithrin Sant Aubin.

Katie Vaughan, Senior Community Fundraiser at City Hospice, said: “We’re thrilled to see the return of Rudolph Run this year, and to see so many schools donning their antlers and getting involved. It’s inspiring to see such a strong sense of community spirit amongst the younger generation.

“Every penny raised by our Rudolph Reindeer Recruits will enable City Hospice to continue providing free end-of-life care, bereavement support and counselling to families across Cardiff during the festive period. As this event takes place during our charity’s Light up a Light appeal, every donation will shine twice as bright thanks to match funding.”
