Rhiwbina RFC, supporters of City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice, are donating their time and marshalling at our City Hospice Sparkle Walk in September.
Team members will be offering up their time in helping to marshal at the City Hospice Sparkle Walk.
Richard Price of Rhiwbina RFC said “We are very excited at the club to help the Hospice by marshalling at the Sparkle Walk. We are part of the community and our members wanted to support a local charity that also is based within our area. We have a large group of people that want to mobilise to make a difference.
We’re really looking forward to walking with friends and remembering loved ones that we have lost and also making sure all City Hospice supporters complete the 10k route safely.”

About City Hospice
City Hospice is a registered charity at the heart of Cardiff, providing specialist medical, nursing and end of life care to patients in their own homes. We offer counselling to adults and children, welfare benefits advice and day centres with a range of activities. We are also the only at-home palliative care provider for the city of Cardiff and need to raise a total of £2m to keep providing these specialist services.
Daisy Magill, City Hospice Fundraising Officer and organiser of the Sparkle Walk is very grateful for the local support. “Thank you very much to the players and members at Rhiwbina RFC for volunteering their time and helping us marshal the 10k route. Marshals play an important role in these events; they are the eyes and ears!
We’re very excited at for our first ever City Hospice Sparkle Walk. It is going to have that community and family feel and it’s a perfect opportunity for people to learn about the vital services we provide, while lighting up the streets of Cardiff.”
