The Radyr & Morganstown Festival returns this May with a vibrant programme of events, celebrating creativity and community, all while raising vital funds for this year’s chosen charity, City Hospice

Running from 2nd May – 17th May, the much-loved community festival once again brings together residents, local organisations and volunteers to showcase the very best of Radyr and Morganstown. With the theme “Caring for the Community”, the 2026 festival is particularly meaningful, reflecting both the values of the festival itself and the compassionate work of City Hospice.

City Hospice provides specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses across Cardiff, supporting patients and families in their own homes at the times they need it most. Many families in Radyr and Morganstown will already be familiar with the hospice’s work, making it a cause close to the hearts of the local community.

This year, all proceeds from the Festival Draw and the Festival’s closing concert will go directly to City Hospice, helping ensure that patients can continue to receive expert care, comfort and support at home.

Festival Chair, David Silver said the charity was a natural choice for 2026:

“City Hospice is a local charity whose work touches so many families in our community. The festival theme of Caring for the Community perfectly reflects what they do every day. We hope residents will support the festival events and help us raise as much as possible for this vital cause.”

The Radyr & Morganstown Festival is renowned for offering something for everyone, and 2026 is no exception.

Highlights from this year’s programme include:

  • The Festival Fete at Radyr Primary School, featuring music, stalls, games, BBQs, a bar and the popular plant stall
  • Party in the Park, a free community celebration with performances from school bands, choirs and local musicians
  • Art Exhibition: “Nurture”, showcasing artists connected to the local area and inspired by care and community
  • Jazz Night, Wine and Cheese Evening, Science with a Pint, and the ever-popular Tenovus Festival Quiz
  • Family-friendly favourites such as Louby Lou’s Dinosaur Explorers, Story and Rhyme sessions for under 5s, and the Val Allen Dog Show
  • A wide range of talks, walks, faith events and Welsh-language cultural evenings

The programme also includes creative competitions for all ages, from children’s painting and writing to an adult poetry competition, all inspired by this year’s theme.

The festival will close with a special charity concert in aid of City Hospice, featuring Côr Caerdydd, one of Wales’s leading mixed choirs and multiple National Eisteddfod prize winners.

The concert promises a powerful and uplifting finale to the festival, bringing the community together in support of an important local cause. The Festival Draw will also be made during the concert interval, with fantastic prizes donated by local organisations and businesses.

The Radyr & Morganstown Festival is organised by the Radyr & Morganstown Association (RMA), a volunteer-led organisation formed in 1987 and proud recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The festival would not be possible without the dedication of local volunteers, sponsors, performers and helpers who give their time year after year.
