A full house had lots of fun at The Packet Pub last night (Thursday) as they took part in a brilliantly organised evening of trivia, food and fun.
Landlady, Caroline Mairano and fundraising ambassador, Kerry Lewis aided by a number of loyal friends put a massive amount of work in to make the night such a success. A big thank you must go also to Julie Raymond of the Innovate Trust who generously made and paid for the delicious buffet.
Twelve teams took part in the quiz that was organised and compered by Quizmaster, Bernard who put together six rounds of testing questions.
With a score of 56 out of 80, the glamorous Glantaf Mums were victorious and were rewarded with a massive hamper of goodies. There were also hampers for 2nd and 3rd places too.
A first prize of a Kiln Park holiday, supported by at least 30 other prizes made for a very popular raffle and Kerry’s fundraising team sold over £750 worth of tickets.
Thanks to their extremely hard work, the team raised £1,780.
City Hospice cared for Kerry’s husband, who passed away in October 2014. Kerry said, “The wonderful care the whole clinical team gave to the family was unbelievable. My son, Morgan and I benefitted greatly from bereavement counselling, which helped us come to terms with our loss. Indeed, I consider this to be so important I have now become a volunteer counselling officer. I will continue to fundraise and support this wonderful charity.”
