Chris Macnamara, Managing Director at The Brogue Trader and proud City Hospice ambassador is taking his 40-year-old classic Vespa scooter across Europe once again this June in aid of City Hospice.
This month, Chris will be riding from Alicante, Spain to The Algarve in Portugal and from Portugal to Porthcawl in Wales in his 40-year-old classic Vespa scooter, to raise much-needed funds and awareness for City Hospice.
Chris told us:
The challenge will be completed over the course of 7 days. Myself and my little Vespa will be loaded with luggage and spare parts as 40-year-old Vespa’s aren’t the most reliable modes of transport, hence the challenge! The scooter has a top speed of around 60mph but will reduce to 40mph travelling into headwinds and up hills, so this really is a challenge of man and machine. It’s taken me a few years to get over my first ride across Europe, I think I’m now ready for Moped Mayhem 2!”
With Gift Aid, Chris has already raised an incredible £3,665
Nicky Piper MBE, Corporate Partnerships Manager said:
“Thank you so much to Chris for supporting City Hospice once again – we hope you have a fantastic journey, and every penny raised will help us continue to care for Cardiff!”
