During October the country becomes awash with pink as the public join forces to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Many charities benefit from the support associated with breast cancer awareness month, from research charities through to those organizations providing support to people affected by breast cancer.
With this in mind our friends at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff have chosen City Hospice to benefit from their Pink Afternoon Teas during October. This is a special way to support a local charity, whilst enjoying a luxurious afternoon full of delicious treats. Park Plaza Cardiff are generously donating 10% from each Pink Afternoon Tea sold to Cardiff’s local hospice.
City Hospice provide end of life care for patients throughout Cardiff, along with support and counselling for their families. Every year patients with a diagnosis of breast cancer are referred to our charity for care. Funds raised for the charity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month will help us to provide the exceptional care for our patients that everyone deserves.
In additional to the care provided by our doctors and clinical nurse specialists, patients and their family members can access the City Hospice Counselling Service. Having the opportunity to talk with a trained counsellor to discuss how a person is feeling is an essential part of our work. We also provide bereavement counselling services for the families of our patients, including their children.
We would like to say thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who choose to support City Hospice during breast cancer awareness month. Your fundraising efforts will mean the world to families referred to us for care. Our team work exceptionally hard to ensure that these individuals can lead their fullest lives and create lasting memories for their families.
