Hospice Hero – Lyra’s Challenge
9-year-old Lyra Webb will aim to complete 100k or more and become a Hospice Hero!
In November 2020, Lyra’s Bamp John was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Just 10 months after John’s diagnosis, he sadly passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family which was his wish.
Lyra told us,
“I want to give a little something back and have completed several fundraising events including Wag this Wag, Forever Flowers, and the Sparkle Walk. I want to complete the Hospice Heroes challenge to follow in my mum’s footsteps as she took on a challenge last year and completed 100k.
My challenge will include completing 100k in January by riding my scooter, bike, walking or on the running machine if the weather is bad plus I go swimming every Monday. I’m looking forward to completing this challenge and raising money for a charity that is so close to me and my family.
January is the perfect time for everyone to get involved, it’s a fun way to get moving after eating too much chocolate over Christmas and would encourage everyone to take part no matter what your challenge will be!
