Exciting times ahead here at GT!

Two major changes – entrance and ground floor soon to undergo a complete makeover. This will allow for a re vamp of day unit services-if you have any suggestions regarding activities etc please let us know via FB or the website. I think the suggestion of a corner bar sounds perfect! Alongside this George Thomas Hospice is going to rebrand with a completely new logo and name change. I am not sure which will come first so watch this space.

We will shortly say goodbye to CNS Ellie as she leaves us for maternity leave. She has promised to be back by the New Year so I will hold her to that even if baby has to tag along too.

Some of us will be strutting our stuff on the catwalk at the Village Hotel taking part in the GT fashion show. Look out for Chief Exec alongside staff and volunteers dancing around to Right Said Fred. Tickets are free with a donation of a bag of clothes. I am sure the official press release pictures will make a front page website splash!

On a more personnel level Clyde my cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes. He now has an insulin injection twice a day and is on a strict diet. Any tips for stopping a cat going out for a take away would be appreciated, mouse and worm seem to be firm favourites. He is due for a blood sugar check next week at the vets which should prove interesting – anyone know if mouse or worm can raise blood sugar??

I will let you know the correct answer in my next blog!

Bye for now….
