City Hospice’s Wag this Way event will feature a 5km sponsored dog walk through the popular park, followed by a dog show hosted by Dog Furiendly in which pooches can compete to be crowned ‘handsome hound’, ‘gorgeous girl’, ‘dazzling duo’ and more!
The show will begin at 1pm, following the completion of the sponsored 5k dog walk. Each category will cost £2 to enter in which owners can enter their furry loved ones into a variety for the chance to win some tasty treats from Burns Pet Nutrition.
The event, sponsored by Admiral Pet Insurance, will support City Hospice, the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care in the capital. The charity provides care to people with terminal or life limiting illnesses in Cardiff, as well as counselling and support services for their patients’ families,
Adele Pember, Founder of Dog Furiendly said,
“At Dog Furiendly, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Dog Show at the City Hospice’s big tail-wagging event. We will have a variety of categories for owners to enter their dogs such as Golden Oldie, Fabulous Fella & Best Rescue.
Getting just 14 dogs involved in the dog show will pay for an hour of essential nursing care for someone in Cardiff with a terminal illness. We can’t wait for this event and we encourage all dog owners to come and join us!
We’re excited to see the dogs show off their unique personalities and talents, and to see the bond between the dogs and their owners strengthen as they participate in the show. We are also looking forward to seeing all the wagging tails and happy faces of the dogs and the owners during the event. Additionally, we are thrilled to be able to contribute to City Hospice by raising funds through the dog show, and helping make a difference in the lives of those in need.
What we loved the most about last year was the diversity of dogs that participated. It was truly a delight to see dogs of all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique personality and talents. We especially enjoyed seeing the love and pride each owner has for their dog – we truly have such a special bond with dogs”.
Fundraising Coordinator, Katie Vaughan said,
“We are so excited to have Dog Furiendly host our dog show for another year. Last year was so much fun and we can’t wait to see everyone involved again”.
