Our charity Raft Race is back and we are celebrating its 10th year
We are absolutely delighted to announce that the Raft Race is back for its 10th year at City Hospice. Over the past nine years this annual fixture has raised £70,000 for the hospice, it’s a vital fundraising event in our calendar.
We couldn’t have done this without the dedication and support people in the community show. We have had businesses use this as their team building activity, designing and buildings rafts then together racing down the River Taff for the winning trophy. There have also been families and groups of friends, dress in matching outfits, raising funds and having fun.
If you would like to get involved, you can email Daisy on daisy.magill@cityhospice.org.uk . For further information or to sign-up your team click here
Daisy can provide you with fundraising support to ensure you reach your target, giving you collection buckets for your work place, making posters or even giving you fundraising event ideas.
We are also very lucky to have the support from our headline sponsors, Western Power Distribution who have kindly supported the event again this year:
Michael Clarke, Corporate Communications Team Manager:
We have supported City Hospice for a number of years. They do a tremendous job supporting people and families within the local community and as a company who operates in the region too, we are delighted to be able to help them. The race is a fun way of being able to raise important funds for the Hospice. It’s also a chance to bond and compete with various teams. The race has been a very popular event for a number of years thanks to the support of many people and organisations in the local community.
As part of our relationship with City Hospice we offer Our Priority Services Register. This is a free service that we provide to anyone within our region who may find power cuts more worrying than most of us. The services ensure that we can contact those customers who need our help most. We will look to contact them to ensure they are safe and well and provide the latest information about the power cut affecting them. We can also provide additional support where necessary. Those who are eligible include people that require electricity for medical needs, are ill; disabled have visual or hearing impairments or have just recently been in hospital. If you want to register you can do so by visiting www.westernpower.co.uk/psr or calling 0800 096 3080.
