At City Hospice we are lucky to have the support of some of Cardiff’s finest hotels
The Copthorne in Culverhouse Cross is one of these and they have been very active over the last couple of years, fundraising in many ways.
Recently they presented a cheque for £3,000 which represents the amount they raised over the Christmas period.
Copthorne Area General manager, Ben Underwood and staff members, Molly Barker and Alex Smith presented the cheque to City Hospice’s Corporate Partnerships manager, Nicky Piper
Ben Underwood presenting the cheque said:
“We were delighted to raise funds for City Hospice throughout 2019 as we did in 2018. The £3,000 raised over Christmas was a combined effort and I’d like to thank all the guests who paid to put their coats in the charity cloakroom and bought hundreds of raffle tickets. We also raised over £1,000 earlier in the year with our Cardiff Half Marathon team, most of whom were first time runners. Everyone completed the 13.1 miles and raised money for City Hospice along the way.
We support City Hospice because we believe they do wonderful work and make such a positive impression on people’s lives just at the time they need it most.
We look forward to partnering with City Hospice again 2020 and beyond.”
Ben has also agreed to run the Cardiff Half Marathon again for City Hospice. Entries for the October event have now closed, but City Hospice has a number of free places available to those who will pledge to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship.
