Wales’ biggest festive light trail choose City Hospice as a leading charity alongside AP Cymru for this years’ Christmas at Bute Park.
Christmas at Bute Park is an award-winning light trail, that weaves its way through the beautiful grounds of Bute Park. After selling out in 2021, the festive special returns for a second year and City Hospice are delighted to be joining forces with this magical experience.
As part of being one of Christmas at Bute Parks’ leading charity, we look forward to taking over the festive light trail as we host a Christmas Performance event on the evening of Sunday 11th December. We are also proud to announce Keen Insurance are our headline sponsors for this upcoming festive event.
Hosted by City Hospice ambassador Sian Lloyd, the event will begin at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where guests will be able to enjoy special performances from Cardiff Male Voice Choir, Harpist, Benjamin Creighton Griffiths, Rock Choir and Y Gerddorfa Ukulele Gymreig.
Following the festive performance, our supporters will then go on to follow the award-winning light trail with a City Hospice bucket collection taking place on the trail plus a finale performance from the Rock Choir.
By popular demand tickets for the Christmas at Bute Park light trail have sold out however we have tickets available for the Christmas performance which is perfect for friends, family and colleagues to enjoy can be found here.
We look forward to welcoming back the Rock Choir to their second City Hospice event of the year. Rock Choir Leader, Paul Mansford said:
“Lots of our choir members and family members have been directly involved with City Hospice. It’s a charity that does a huge amount of good and we love being able to support everyone with our singing. We’re looking forward to showing off our Christmas playlist. We hope that singing around the lights in Bute Park adds a special sparkle to those attending”.
Emma St. Croix, Senior Marketing Manager at From the Fields, said:
“One of the key reasons for working with City Hospice was that we wanted to build a relationship with a charity that was having a real impact in Cardiff. The work City Hospice do is incredibly poignant & I think at this time of the year, what should be a joyous occasion can be extremely hard for some families, so we wanted to team up with City Hospice to put a spotlight on the work that they do, especially during this difficult time”.
City Hospice is honoured to work closely with an event that strives in making a positive difference in the community of Cardiff. Whilst Christmas is a joyous time for most, those dealing with the love of a loved one can be an incredibly difficult time too. Our aim to work with Christmas at Bute Park is to give families affected by bereavement the space to enjoy this experience, whilst still holding the loved ones they have lost close.
A donation made during the Light Up A Life campaign will make a world of difference to a family facing terminal illness in the community. To donate, visit http://www.cityhospice.org.uk/star-in-the-sky/ or call 02920 524 150.
