Dean, an avid motorcyclist and City Hospice patient shares his story on why he has chosen to fundraise for Cardiff’s local hospice.
Dean said:
“I’m supporting and fundraising for City Hospice as I’m currently receiving amazing support from them. I am hoping to fundraise as much money as possible to enable City Hospice to continue to deliver their essential services. I want to help others and support them as they share a similar experience to me.
I guess I want to give a little back due to the amazing care I have received. You’re all totally amazing, and I’m forever grateful for your care and the patience you all have.”
Dean plans to spread the word of the work we do at City Hospice at his motorcycle meetings, and is planning a number of different fundraising activities in his community to raise as much as he can to support us.
He adds:
“At my motorcycle meetings, I plan to sell merchandise and ask for donations through bucket collections. You’ll find on my JustGiving page I explain more about the care I have received from City Hospice and Velindre. It makes me happy to educate people, healthy or ill, of the work you do .
It’s astonishing how many people have cancer, but I hope with donations to JustGiving, and through selling merchandise, I can bring more awareness to cancer and raise vital funds for City Hospice.
I will never beat this thing inside me but I’m looking forward to the challenge in front of me. I’m a fighter – always was and always will be!”
