DOG FURIENDLY

Adele Pember, Founder of Dog Furiendly said:

A BIG woof to all of you joining us for Wag This Way 2022. You may be wondering who the fluffy-tail are Dog Furiendly? We help dog owners to plan pawesome adventures with the dog! Whether you’re searching for a nearby dog friendly pub, a cosy cottage to getaway or a dog friendly beach to explore and stretch your paws. Finding dog friendly places is a walk in the park on our free website and app (which you can download on Google Play or Apple). We’ll help you to find the best places to take your furry friends wherever you are in the country.

Why We’re Supporting Wag This Way?

Out of all the cities we work in across the UK, Cardiff holds a very special place in our hearts. This beautiful city, filled with plenty of wagging tails, inspired us to create Dog Furiendly so that more dog owners could find places to visit and events like Wag This Way.

We woofed with joy when we heard that this incredible event was back for 2022. During the event, we’ll be hosting a dog show complete with categories like Gorgeous Girl, Fabulous Fella and more! We’ll also be interviewing some superstar pupfluencers from across the UK.

So far we have, Polka Dot Loki , Olli the Cocker , Teddy and Amy  and Bowie joining us!

The event is plenty of fun for all the family to enjoy, all while raising funds for such an important cause. Instead of donating bucket loads of gravy bones, we’re raising real money to support the hard-working staff at City Hospice who provide essential care for those who need it the most. If we can even get 14 dogs involved with the dog show, that pays for an hour of essential nursing care for someone in Cardiff with a terminal illness.

Burns Pet Food Nutrition

Rebecca Wilkinson, Sponsorship Co-ordinator said:

As a Kidwelly-based pet food company, Burns Pet Food and Nutrition, have a strong commitment to giving back to the local community. We always strive to make a difference to the lives of pets and humans whenever possible, which is why choosing to support City Hospice and Wag this Way was such an easy choice. This event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with our dogs, while raising vital funds for City Hospice and all of the vital work they do to support local families.

We are committed to helping dogs, cats and rabbits lead a happy and healthy life by offering high-quality, natural and healthy pet food, without any of the nasty stuff. We also want to help owners make informed choices about their pet’s nutrition, which is why we offer a free advice service run by a team of nutritional experts with a combined 50 years of experience.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to helping as many animals and humans as possible, which is why we support rescue centres and shelters throughout the UK every year, and organise community projects and initiatives through our very own charity, The John Burns Foundation.

Wag this Way is a lovely event, and we had the best time when we attended in 2019. The weather was on our side and it was a great day to bring local communities and like-minded people together to attend a fun dog walk around Bute Park. We have the best memories of the event in 2019, and we can’t wait to see you all this March.

Burns Pet Food and Nutrition are supplying the goodie bags and doggie bandanas

We are looking forward to seeing all the humans and furry family members that attended in 2019 and we’re excited to get to know some new faces too! We can’t wait to see what’s new, and all the exciting surprises City Hospice and Wag this Way has in store for us on the day. We’re also excited to be able to offer goodie bags, meet pets and their owners, and offer free nutritional advice and pet food samples to anyone who sniffs us out.

If you have a dog and live in the Cardiff area, you should attend this event to support your local community, blow away the winter cobwebs and socialise with like-minded people at one of Cardiff’s most beautiful spots. This is the second year that Wag this Way is running and the event is still in its infancy, so there is so much scope for businesses to get involved, make a difference, meet other business owners and build relationships with fantastic new customers.

Thomas Harper Photography

Thomas tells us:

There usually comes a time in all our lives when we will be affected in one way or another by an illness that requires additional care. Whether it affects us directly, a family member or a friend, having a network of support is invaluable and it’s for this reason that I am supporting City Hospice so that they can continue to provide essential care and support for patients and their families.

I adore dogs of all shapes and sizes

I’ve always had a passion for animals in general, but after volunteering my photography services to a local animal sanctuary back in 2018 I realised I had found my true calling. Their loyalty, innocence, playfulness, joyful outlook and abundance of love in their huge cuddly hearts just speaks to me in a way that nothing else does. I adore dogs of all shapes and sizes and have worked with hundreds of different characters over the years. Any dog can have a fun and stress-free session by using the right tools and motivational techniques. You’ll enjoy the experience with them and come away not just with beautiful photographs, but with special memories of your time spent together making them.

The 2019 event was brilliant so it’s a no brainer to get involved again! The event itself is a fun way for you and your dogs to socialise, meet new people and get some gentle exercise in at the same time, all while supporting a great cause.

I’m most looking forward to meeting hundreds of dogs if I’m honest, but it’s also great to talk to passionate dog owners who share a unique bond with their pets. I’m also excited to see what might have changed since last time and I can’t wait to be part of this amazing event!
