Get Involved Volunteer with us Volunteer Rewards Events Certificates City Hospice provides events certificates to volunteers that support us at our fundraising events. The certificates are part of the Volunteering Spirit Wales projects, by WCVA. These certificates are great to show to potential employers, add to your record of achievement, or contribute towards your Millennium Volunteer award. For each fundraising event organised by us that you volunteer at, you'll be eligible to receive a certificate of participation. To apply for a certificate for an event you've volunteered at, please contact our Volunteer Officer, Alex, on [email protected]. Millennium Volunteers City Hospice is a member of the GwirVol Millennium Volunteers programme. The programme is open to anyone aged 14-25 who currently volunteers or would like to start and wants to have their commitment, skills and experience recognised. The three certificates at 50, 100 and 200 hours all carry both the GwirVol logo and the Welsh Government logo (if you complete 200 hours, you even get the First Minister’s signature printed on the certificate!). This means that you can show anyone who wants to know how many hours you did, where you did them and when you did them and that it is official. The certificate along with the support and training City Hospice provides means you get something that looks great on your CV, job and UCAS applications. You must give your hours freely – that means that if your school or college tells you to do it, then it is not volunteering (so Welsh Baccalaureate hours do not count towards the programme). Find out how you can get involved by viewing our current volunteer opportunities.
