Phil Steele

Phil Steele is a one of Wales’ most popular sports broadcasters and has been a proud ambassador for City Hospice since 2009.

He is best known as a pitch-side reporter for BBC Wales’ rugby programme, Scrum V. He has also reported/commentated for BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 5 Live, and Sky. Phil is also an after-dinner speaker and has spoken at events and venues across Britain and abroad.

Phil joined as an ambassador for City Hospice after his wife Liz, who had a brain tumour, sadly died at the age of 48.

“During her illness, Liz, and I’m sure this is the case for many cancer sufferers,  was much happier at home in familiar surroundings with her family and friends than in hospital. City Hospice does a fantastic job of providing the home care which makes this possible.”
