Nigel Walker

Nigel Walker is a long standing ambassador for City Hospice and one of Wales’ sporting legends.

Very few people get to represent their country at two different sports, but Nigel not only represented Great Britain as a 110m hurdler at the Los Angeles Olympic Games, but also played rugby for Wales on 17 occasions. Following his successful sporting career, Nigel moved into television, first as a presenter and then behind the cameras, as Head of Sport for BBC Wales.

For the past eight years, he has been responsible for science, medicine, technology and engineering support primarily to the Olympic andParalympic teams in his role of National Director at the English Institute of Sport.
