Dr Clifford Jones
Cliff is originally from north west Wales and is welsh speaker, but now lives in Cardiff since graduating from University of Wales College of Medicine in 2003. He is a GP in Ebbw Vale and a Primary Care Clinical Director with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, with a focus on quality improvement and innovation. Cliff has had an interest in palliative care since working in elderly care as a junior doctor.
He has previously worked as a Macmillan GP for end of life care, working on service improvement and training GPs and nurses on palliative care. He was part of the team who developed the Care Decisions Tool for the last days of life.
More recently he was the National Lead for the all Wales Primary Care Cancer Framework programme and Associate Medical Director for the Wales Cancer Network. He has been the End of Life Care lead for RCGP Wales since 2015 and regularly runs palliative care study days for primary care professionals. Outside of work Cliff enjoys watching Sci-fi and reading Terry Pratchett books, and can usually be found commenting on primary care issues on twitter (or posting pictures of his cat!)
