David Lloyd

Chair

David has recently retired from the School of Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University where for the last seven years he headed up the Work Based Learning department assisting all undergraduates to secure some hands on work placement experience to help in their future career progression. David has an MA in Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, being awarded a Teaching Fellowship whilst at Cardiff Met.

Prior to this David was a Senior Lecturer in Retail Management using his considerable experience gained from his 30-year career operating at main board level in the non-food retail department store sector.

David also serves as a Trustee for Perthyn, a charity supporting disabled adults who need 24-hour care and support.

With a strong retail background, David hopes, in particular, to help City Hospice to sustain and grow the important charity shops which play a critical factor in fundraising for City Hospice. In September 2017, David was appointed as Chair of the Council of Management for City Hospice.
