Why do we need your support?

Here at City Hospice, we care for patients and their families at what can be the most difficult time of their lives. On average, we receive 100 new patient referrals per month and look after 550 patients at any one time. Our aim is to ensure every patient can live their life to the fullest for as long as possible and create lasting memories for their families. We offer bereavement counselling and support for anyone in Cardiff experiencing loss and grief. Our services are provided free of charge, meaning we need to raise more than £2.3m each year to ensure we can keep caring for Cardiff.

How will my money be spent?

Pays for refreshments for our monthly bereavement coffee mornings

Providing counselling to patients and their loved ones

Providing reflexology and complimentary therapies to patients and loved ones

Covers the running of our patient minibus for a month

Pays for a day of nursing care for a patient facing a life-limiting illness

Pays for the counselling for a bereaved family member

When does Road to the Rugby World Cup take place?

The virtual challenge will begin on 1st August and will run through to 31st August in the lead up to the first Rugby World Cup game

How much do I need to raise?

We ask that you raise a minimum of £150 per person through sponsorship of your challenge. This will also ensure you will receive your free City Hospice t-shirt and medal for free!

How can I achieve my distance?

You can pledge as many miles as you want! Our aim is to see how many times we can get from Cardiff to Paris through this fun virtual challenge. Why not aim to get to Paris and back yourself and pledge to complete 900 miles?

Can more than one person take part?

Yes! Get your friends, family, colleagues, gym class, school friends involved and pledge as many miles between you as you can.

Can I enter as an organisation or school?

Absolutely. Once you have registered as a school or organisation, a member of the team will reach out to you. For your efforts, you will receive certificates to be awarded in your school/organisation.

Can children take part?

Of course! This is a challenge for all – you get to set your own goals and how you achieve them.

What support will I receive?

We will be with you every step of the way providing regular updates via email and you’ll have access to our Heroes Area full of social images and tips.
