Visiting patients at home and at Ty Hosbis
The clinical team at City Hospice are committed to visiting patients in their own home at an agreed time convenient for both patients and their family.
We understand that when someone is unwell and fatigued they do not want to be waiting indefinitely for a visit.
Unfortunately as hard as we are trying to make this possible there are times due to circumstances out of our control when the visit may be delayed or in extreme circumstances cancelled.
The main cause of late visits is usually due to heavy city traffic or spending a longer time than anticipated in a previous visit due to the patient requiring more complex health problems solved.
We make every effort to inform you if such a delay is expected.
If you are one of our patients that has transport and is still well enough to go out such as shopping or visiting your GP. Perhaps rather than have a home visit you may consider coming to visit us for an appointment with your nurse or doctor. This will be an invaluable saving in time allowing us to see more patients.
At City Hospice we have a lovely building and gardens. Anyone who visits us will always be greeted by a friendly volunteer and offered a cuppa and a chat while waiting for an appointment with our clinical or complimentary therapy team.
We may even be able to organise a little bit of pampering at the same time such as reflexology. City Hospice remains firmly committed to serving our community palliative patients in their own homes. However if you can manage to come and see us we promise a warm welcome and a prompt unrushed appointment with one of our specialised team.
