Bill and Julia benefitted from attending bereavement coffee morning, after Bill’s wife died in 2017.

Julia says “The staff and volunteers made us feel so welcome, and being able to talk to others going through the same experience has been invaluable.”

“Grief can be a very isolating experience, but attending the coffee mornings made us realise that we were not alone. Knowing the bereavement coffee mornings were open to us and knowing that further help and support from the hospice was available, was very comforting and made a huge difference to our ability to cope with our grief”

“It makes every difference talking to those who really do know what it’s like to experience a bereavement.”

Two years on Julia and Bill report that they have moved on with their grief and now feel able to move on with our lives, thanks to the help and support from those who work so hard to organise the bereavement coffee mornings and other support facilities at City Hospice.

Thank you to Julia and Bill for sharing their story, and highlighting what a special service we provide at Cardiff’s local hospice.
