This October, James and Ben will be joining #TeamHospice as they take on the Cardiff Half Marathon.
Both James and Ben share a connection with City Hospice, the only at home care provider in the Capital. Ben told us,
“City Hospice is a charity I hold close to my heart. The Hospice gave my grandparents the most amazing care leading up to the end of their lives. No matter what their needs were, their nurse, Allen, was always there for them and this I something I will always be grateful for.
This half marathon is one of my first running challenges and is a chance to give back to the charity that gave my family so much support”.
Ben’s mother, Karen began working with City Hospice in September 2022 where she met James’ mother, Jo and realised they had so much in common.
James has been an active runner for most of his life and wanted to give something back. Following the connection between their mums, James has been supporting Ben’s training for the marathon.
James told us, “City Hospice works tirelessly to support patients and their families. I have witnessed first hand how hard the team to ensure those in their care can live the rest of their lives to the fullest”.
