The Crafted Nook: a celebration of local talent and community spirit

Nestled in the heart of Cardiff, The Crafted Nook is a creative hub that brings together the city’s thriving crafting community under one roof. The idea for The Crafted Nook was born from a shared love of handmade arts and crafts.

Andreia Attard, Founder and Owner of The Crafted Nook said:

“We always wanted to open a one-stop gift shop where people could come in for any occasion and find something unique, made by local creators. When we started exploring the idea of opening a shop, we knew we wanted to get all of our crafter friends involved and showcase the incredible talent Cardiff has to offer.”

After coming up with the idea last year, things moved quickly. The team found their current home on Whitchurch Road in May, received the keys at the end of July, and had just five weeks to transform the space into a welcoming, vibrant shop filled with beautiful handmade gifts.

Now, The Crafted Nook proudly supports over 80 small local businesses. Shoppers can browse a wide range of creations, including jewellery, clothing, artwork, resin crafts, 3D prints, dolls’ clothing, decoupage, cards, and so much more.

Supporting local causes is also at the heart of what they do.

The Crafted Nook is delighted to support City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice, by offering them a dedicated shelf in the shop completely free of charge for the City Hospice KnitWhits to sell and showcase their handknitted/crocheted items. The hospice team are also welcome to use the shop’s workshop area whenever they like, providing a creative space to connect with the community.

The incredible KnitWhits is a dedicated community group that has supported City Hospice for over 10 years. In 2024 alone, they raised an amazing £4,114.68 by attending various craft fayres, selling their items.

You can find The Crafted Nook at 59 Whitchurch Road, Cardiff, CF14 3JP, or follow them on social media at @TheCraftedNookCardiff to see the latest creations and updates from their talented crafters.
