Team CPS take on the Road to the Rugby World Cup Challenge

Our Road to the Rugby World Cup challenge began at the beginning of August where we were encouraging individuals and businesses to pledge how many miles they think they could complete, in order for us to see how many times we can get from Cardiff to Paris and back.

Recruitment specialists, CPS Group, have been around for over 2 decades and have supported City Hospice for a number of years. They have volunteered for Forever Flowers, the Sparkle Walk and in previous years, taken part in the Raft Race.  They have taken on this month’s challenge and have pledged to complete 900 miles throughout August by walking, running cycling and rowing.

Group Marketing Manager, Naomi Morgan, has said:

“There are 15 of us in total, from both our Cardiff and Bristol offices. It’s not just our Recruitment Consultants either, our Support Team are getting involved too (and our four-legged friends have been helping us along the way).”

“Being a Cardiff-based business, giving back to the local community is really important to us. We’ve been supporting City Hospice for a few years now and have had the privilege of visiting the hospice a number of times and seeing firsthand the incredible work the team do, so it was a no-brainer for us to get involved. City Hospice is such a special charity, it’s essential that they can keep providing the service they do to the people who need it the most. Plus, a healthy bit of competition between the team never hurt anybody!”

The team are nearly halfway through the challenge with over 420 miles already under their belt. Naomi gave a shout out to David Southwood, CPS Groups Delivery Manager based in Bristol who is “absolutely smashing it on his bike. He’s nearly hit 100 miles in 3 weeks.”

Katie Vaughan, Fundraising Coordinator, added:

We are loving watching Team CPS clock up the miles for our Road to the Rugby World Cup challenge! They are smashing our home team, Team City Hospice, and we’ve only pledged to do half the miles they have. Thank you again to the team at CPS, their ongoing support and enthusiasm for our charity is invaluable and we absolutely love working with them! Good luck for the rest of the challenge #TeamCPS
