Rogers Jones Auctioneers takes on the Iron-Fan Challenge for City Hospice
Rogers Jones is one of the UK’s leading fine art valuers and auction houses, with a strong foothold in Wales. They specialise in antiques, art, jewellery and collectables, and also offer probate and insurance valuations.
This September, Ben Rogers Jones, Auctioneer and Partner at Rogers Jones, will be swapping the auction room for the mountains as he takes on Iron-Fan on Sunday 14 September, a gruelling endurance challenge that sees participants climb Pen y Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, not once but four times in a single day.
Ben has already raised over £1,000 for City Hospice ahead of the challenge, with donations continuing to come in as the event approaches.
Ben said:
“Being a bloke of a certain age, I am frequently asked whether I play golf! My answer is that I do see the appeal of hitting a small ball around the landscape for a few hours (followed by a pint or two), but in all honesty I’d rather spend the time up in the mountains. This is why the Iron-Fan challenge was one I could not refuse.”
“The highest I have trekked is just over 4,200 metres, and that was over two days, and I have to say it was a monumental struggle. So, Iron-Fan is very much a step into the unknown. City Hospice touches the lives of so many families in Cardif,f and their work is inspiring – they are an organisation that I am privileged to be involved with. Please do donate to our Iron-Fan campaign; a small donation will go a long way at City Hospice and will spur me on when my old legs are complaining on laps three and four!”
If you’d like to support Ben or even take on the challenge yourself, there’s still time to get involved. Visit our website to register or donate today.
