Nissan Wessex Garage hosts bake-off in support of City Hospice

Staff and customers gathered at Nissan Wessex Garage for a sweet treat as they staged a bake-off in aid of City Hospice.

The event, held as part of the dealership’s 40th charity challenge activity, saw an impressive selection of treats on display, with participants showcasing their baking skills to support the local hospice.

Standards were exceptionally high as both customers and colleagues indulged in a selection of bakes, generously digging deep into their pockets to contribute towards City Hospice.

Judging the competition was City Hospice Corporate Relationships Manager, Nicky Piper, who faced the task of selecting a winner among the outstanding entries. Nicky said: “It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it! It was really hard to pick a winner as every single entry was delicious”.

Ultimately, the first place was awarded to Milton of Venture Photography for their carrot cupcakes with Business Fleet Manager Alec Trevellion’s superb dark chocolate and lime biscuit being a close runner-up.

Expressing the team’s effort, Nissan Wessex General Manager, Rhian Edwards said,

“I’m so proud of everyone, they’ve done so well. Wessex garages have supported City Hospice for many years, and we’re all excited to raise money for such an important charity”.

Every pound made will contribute towards Wessex Garages’ pledge to raise as much as they can as part of City Hospice’s 40 Charity Challenge.

Each business or organisation that takes part in the challenge will be provided with £40, which has kindly been donated by sponsor Hodge Bank. Participants will then have until November to transform their £40 into a minimum of £1,600 through creative and innovative fundraising.
