It’s time to sparkle! Our annual 10km night-time walk, the Sparkle Walk, returns on Friday 27 September.

We invite friends, family and colleagues to join us on this special walk which starts within the beautiful surroundings of Insole Court, an iconic location in the heart of Llandaff. The route will take participants through Llandaff to Whitchurch, where a moment can be taken to leave messages to loved ones at the hospice’s memory garden before heading back to Insole Court.

We are delighted to announce that the headline sponsor for this year’s Sparkle Walk is NFU Mutual Newport. Let’s find out more…

Meet NFU Mutual Newport

NFU Mutual is a nationwide organisation which provides services including financial planning services, insurance, investments, life cover, pensions and risk management for its customers. The organisation has been supporting people, families and businesses for over 110 years and champions local rural communities across the UK. NFU Mutual Newport is one of 33 offices in Wales and supports customers in south-east Wales.

Proud to support the Sparkle Walk

Gareth Griffiths, Partner at NFU Mutual Newport, said: “A few years ago, I saw first-hand just how amazing hospice care can be; not just for your loved one but for yourself too. The care and support they provide to both the patient and family makes the most unbearable time in your life just that little bit easier. Whether it’s a piece of toast when you’ve been at their bed all day or setting up a sofa bed for you so you can spend every last minute you can with your loved ones, these little things make a massive difference.

“I will forever be grateful for the support given to my mum and our family, and I am proud, along with my colleagues at NFU Mutual Newport, to support City Hospice and the Sparkle Walk this year.

“The Sparkle Walk is an amazing event, bringing people together from all over the city. I’m looking forward to hearing people share their stories and support each other through conversation on a beautiful walk in Cardiff. The most helpful thing I did to get through the loss of my mum was to share her story and listen to others who have been through the same. What better place to do this than on a lovely evening stroll with people who have similar stories to share and open ears to listen; we’ll make their memories shine!”

How can I join in?

The Sparkle Walk is suitable for families, friends and colleagues and anyone over the age of eight. Children under the age of 18 must walk with a registered adult at all times.

Tickets can be purchased on our website and the price includes your own personalised City Hospice Sparkle Walk t-shirt, a Sparkle Walk medal and a glass of sparkle upon completion.
