City Hospice, the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care in Cardiff, has officially opened its largest charity shop to date.
The High Sheriff of South Glamorgan, Janey Howells, cut the ribbon on 03 October, welcoming the public to the new store.
Located on Colchester Avenue, the shop offers a wide range of high-quality, pre-loved items, including accessories, books, clothing, furniture, and homeware. In addition, it features a dedicated community space designed to bring people together.
The community space will host crafting sessions, upcycling workshops, and other creative activities, providing a welcoming environment for local residents to learn new skills, connect with others, and support the hospice’s work.
As a flagship for City Hospice’s fundraising efforts, the expanded store will play a vital role in supporting the charity’s mission. Every purchase, donation, and community event will help City Hospice continue providing essential care for patients with terminal or life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families.
The charity invites the local community to support the new store by shopping, donating gently used goods, volunteering, or attending the workshops planned throughout the year. Donations can be dropped off during store hours at Unit 4, Design Quarter, 145 Colchester Avenue.
