This year City Hospice’s Forever Flowers campaign is being held in association with Cardiff Bereavement Services.

In addition to this, five leading Welsh businesses are also supporting the campaign: Azets, Cardiff Rugby, Eversheds Sutherland, Harlequin Printing and Packaging, and Premier Forest Group.

Forever Flowers provides the public with a unique means to celebrate life and remember cherished family members, friends, colleagues and loved ones. The limited edition tributes will feature in a special display within the grounds of Cardiff Castle from Saturday 5 August to Sunday 13 August. This year the charity is inviting people to dedicate a daisy to a loved one.

Azets is the largest Top 10 regional SME accountancy and business advisory firm delivering accounting, advisory, audit, business and tax services in the UK and internationally, with 7,500 employees across 165+ offices including Cardiff, Monmouth and Swansea. The firm believes in making a difference in their local community and is continuing to support Forever Flowers in 2023.

Claire Thompson, Director at Azets, said: “Having supported the campaign since its launch in 2021, we are delighted to continue our support this year. The funds raised enable the charity to continue to provide their outstanding and invaluable care, as well as providing a cherished keepsake for us to remember a loved one.

“The display within the castle is absolutely breathtaking and we cannot wait to attend and be part of such an uplifting and inspiring event.”

Professional rugby team Cardiff Rugby has an active presence in the community and love to support local community and charity initiatives. The team is supporting Forever Flowers for the third year in a row.

Mike Brown, Head of Communications and Marketing at Cardiff Rugby, said: “We are delighted to continue our support of City Hospice and the Forever Flowers campaign.

“The hospice provides such positive and inspirational environments to help patients live life to the fullest and the utmost compassion, care and professionalism to so many families. Seeing Cardiff Castle’s banks covered in a sea of flowers each year is incredibly touching and we look forward to dedicating a daisy.”

Another business which is supporting Forever Flowers for its third consecutive year is Eversheds Sutherland, a global commercial law firm which provides legal advice and solutions to its client base from over 70 offices around the world including Cardiff.

Matthew Gough, Senior Office Partner at Eversheds Sutherland, said: “We are very proud to have been associated with Forever Flowers for the last three years. Forever Flowers is a beautiful way of honouring and remembering loved ones who have passed away.

“The campaign is about reflection and remembering loved ones, but it is also about hope and celebrating life. Our volunteers are looking forward to developing our relationship with City Hospice and once more meeting its staff, friends and supporters at Cardiff Castle. The campaign provides support to those grieving in a very sensitive way and enables Eversheds Sutherland to get closer to an amazing and deserving charity.”

Pontyclun-based supplier of printing and packaging services Harlequin Printing and Packaging is back to support the Forever Flowers campaign for a second year. The company specialises in large format printing, sports branding, events branding, food packaging and sustainable packaging solutions.

Booie & Steve Sall, Directors of Harlequin Printing and Packaging, said: “We lost our beloved brother John Sall in 2020 and we supported Forever Flowers last year in honour of him. We have our flowers in our houses; just a little reminder that he is always with us. This year we will be honouring our mum who passed away in December 2022.

“Visiting the castle is a way of paying our respects to all our loved ones and to bring the flower home as a keepsake is another way of having a close connection to them.”

Newport-based Premier Forest Group is also back to support Forever Flowers after first supporting the campaign in 2022. The business is one of the biggest timber companies in the country, importing and distributing timber panels, softwoods and hardwoods.

Terry Edgell, CEO of Premier Forest and a business ambassador for City Hospice, said: “Forever Flowers is a beautiful way to come together and celebrate the lives of people we love who are sadly no longer with us. It’s an opportunity to share our grief and support one another through difficult times.

“Having both the forget me not and sunflower Forever Flowers, they bring a smile to my face; it’s such a special way to keep memories alive. Premier Forest is delighted to support this year’s campaign and look forward to seeing a bank of daisies bloom across Cardiff Castle.”
