Rugby legend John Scott and his wife, Oonagh, are teeing off their year as Whitchurch Golf Club captains in support of City Hospice.
John, a former Cardiff and England rugby captain, and Oonagh are set to make a difference in their local community as they take on the roles of captains at Whitchurch Golf Club while supporting City Hospice.
Oonagh will become Ladies Captain on March 1st, with John following as Men’s Captain on April 1st. The couple are eager to use their leadership roles to fundraise for City Hospice, Cardiff’s only provider of home-based specialist palliative care.
“It’s going to be a very busy year with us both being captains, but we’re looking forward to raising as much as we can for City Hospice,” said Oonagh.
John added, “Luckily, we live on the edge of the course, and we have a well-worn path from our back gate to the clubhouse. We’ve got lots of events planned, and we’re both looking forward to our year of captaincy.”
Whitchurch Golf Club, located just a few hundred yards from City Hospice, has a strong connection to the charity. Over the years, many members have experienced first-hand the compassionate care provided by the hospice, making this partnership especially meaningful.
Through their captaincy, John and Oonagh aim to raise awareness and vital funds for City Hospice, ensuring that more families receive the expert care and support they need.
