Howells Solicitors has chosen City Hospice as its Charity of the Year for 2025/26, supporting the vital palliative care and counselling services the charity provides to the local community.

Based in South Wales, Howells Solicitors is a well-established law firm offering a broad range of legal services for individuals and businesses, including family law, conveyancing, personal injury, and employment law. Renowned for their client-focused approach, the team is committed to providing personalised, professional advice tailored to each client’s needs.

The decision to support City Hospice was made following a team vote, with staff choosing to back a local charity that delivers vital care and support to people within the community.

Through this partnership, Howells aims to raise both awareness and funds to help City Hospice continue its essential services. The team is also keen to engage in meaningful activities that allow them to give back to the community they are proud to be part of. Supporting a local charity was a key factor in the firm’s decision, and the team takes great pride in knowing their collective efforts will help bring comfort and care to those who need it most.

Elizabeth Garrido Williams, Chair of Howells’ CSR Committee, said:

“We are honoured to support City Hospice as our Charity of the Year. Their dedication to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to those in need is truly inspiring. We look forward to working closely with them and contributing to their mission of making a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families during their most challenging times.”

Nicky Piper, Corporate Partnerships Manager,

“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Howells Solicitors as their new charity partner. This partnership, based in the heart of the city, will help us reach people from Cardiff and beyond and raise vital funds and awareness of our services.”

City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice, is the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care in the capital.

The charity needs to raise £3million each year to provide their services free of charge and the work would not be possible without the support from the local community. Funds raised by Howells Solicitors will ensure the charity can continue to care for patients and their families at what can be the most difficult time of their lives.
