Creating precious moments this Mother’s Day
When life feels uncertain, every moment matters. This year, our Patient and Family Wellbeing Services created a simple but meaningful way for patients and their loved ones to spend time together in the lead up to Mother’s Day.
As part of our “Moments” initiative, mums were invited to take part in our professional Mother’s Day photoshoot, an opportunity to create lasting memories together with their families.
Captured by photographer Fay Summerfield, the session created a relaxed and welcoming space where families could feel at ease in front of the camera. Mum’s taking part in the shoot will have a digital photo album and their favourite photo framed as a keepsake.
Louise, a wife, mum of two and City Hospice patient, took part in the photoshoot alongside her husband Kevin and their sons, Tom and Lewis.
Louise said, “Thank you so much to Debs, Faye, and everyone involved in the photoshoot at City Hospice. I had a truly beautiful day. I can’t remember the last time I felt so special. My boys, Tom and Lewis, and my husband Kevin had a great time too, and loved seeing me so happy”.
Initiatives like “Moments” are designed to complement the clinical care we provide, focusing on wellbeing, connection, and the importance of shared experiences. Sometimes it’s simply about creating time and space to be together.
We’re grateful to everyone who made the day possible. We’d especially like to thank Service Design Solutions for kindly sponsoring this activity, helping us offer these experiences to families in our care.
