City Hospice supporter Alexa Pieris held a coffee morning in memory of her sister Zoe Pieris who died of breast cancer on 26th May 2022. With the generosity of supporters, Alexa successfully raised over £900 in aid of City Hospice.
Alexa said,
“Zoe loved to meet friends for a catch up over a coffee and cake. So this was an opportunity for her family and friends to come together and remember her while indulging in one of her favourite things. Everyone was asked to bring a small plate of cake and a donation for City Hospice.”
“I chose City Hospice because when it was clear Zoe would not be recovering from her illness, they provided support, information and guidance to both Zoe and her family. Their support allowed her to choose to have her last days at home being cared for amongst family. This was invaluable in easing as much as possible a traumatic experience for us all. They showed kindness, understanding and nothing was too much trouble.”
Alexa chose to Donate a Day of specialist nursing care to Zoe for Friday 26th May on the first anniversary of her passing.
Fundraising Coordinator Dafydd Thomas said,
“This was a fantastic event from Alexa and her friends and family. I would like to say a big thank you to Alexa, as well as the friends and family who made this event a great success, generously donating to City Hospice and continuing to show their support.”
