12 employees of specialist homecare provider, Bluebird Care collectively walked 130 miles through the Brecon Beacon to raise vital funds for City Hospice. The team challenged themselves to raise £1,000 and they are currently over halfway.

Established in 2008, Bluebird Care is a premium national provider of homecare in Cardiff and the Vale. The team strive with a passion for quality, compliance and excellence and has won various awards over the last four years for their care.

Director & Franchise Owner, Lynne Churchill kindly spoke to us,

“For our team, it was a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion to come together and support the invaluable support of City Hospice. People congratulated us and it was a great opportunity to talk about the vital work of the charity.

Bluebird Care have a shared understanding of the vital role that the hospice plays in our community which is why we wanted to pool our resources to ensure City Hospice can continue to care for patients and their families. We set out a target to raise £1,000 and we are currently over halfway which is great!”.

In addition to their core services, Bluebird Care also runs a daily Forget Me Not Hub in Cowbridge, a unique initiative to engage with the community and give people something to look forward to each week. The hub offers various activities and visitors are growing by the week tailored to everyone’s needs. Many of those who attend sadly have dementia, the team engage in relevant activities that suit them from silk flower arranging to dancing to ABBA.

“It was great to join the team on their trek through the Brecon Beacons. Thank you so much to Bluebird Care for fundraising in aid of City Hospice, the money raised will make a huge difference to our work”.
