A rising star in the world of musical theatre will bring the West End to Wales in a charity concert in March.

Luke McCall will perform in support of City Hospice at Cornerstone in the city centre on 5 March. Applause Productions, which specialises in producing entertainment for major corporate, charity and private events, is organising and hosting the event which will feature an afternoon tea for guests and musical performances from Luke.

A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Luke McCall has starred in a number of musicals in the West End as well as touring productions. He is the youngest actor to play two of the most iconic roles in musical theatre: Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.

Luke is also a member of the Welsh of the West End ensemble who rose to prominence on YouTube during the pandemic before reaching the semi-finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2022.

Katie Vaughan, Community Fundraising Coordinator at City Hospice, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to hear the talented Luke McCall and experience the thrill of the West End in Wales. We’re incredibly grateful to Applause Productions for organising what promises to be a wonderful afternoon, raising funds to help us continue to care for people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses in our community.”

The event is being held in memory of Martin Manuel and will raise funds for City Hospice, the only provider of home-based specialist palliative care in Cardiff.

The charity provides care for patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses, as well as bereavement counselling and services for the families of its patients.

Tickets for the event are £32 per person and can be booked by ringing 07769 902038.

For those who are unable to attend the event, donations can be made to City Hospice via the following JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bringingthewestendtowales
