Our Day Hospice & Wellbeing Services are made possible with the wonderful support of our volunteers, who help create a warm, welcoming and uplifting environment for patients and their families.
Whether it’s helping to run activities, offering a listening ear, or serving refreshments, our volunteers play a vital role in making a real difference to people’s lives.
We currently run regular Day Hospice sessions on Monday and Thursday afternoons, and we’re excited to be expanding the range of support available to patients, carers and families. As a result, we now offer wellbeing services and workshops on most days of the week, creating even more opportunities for volunteers to get involved.
As a Day Hospice & Wellbeing Volunteer, you could support a single activity or choose to help with a variety of sessions. Some activities take place once or twice a month, while others run more regularly, so we’d love to hear from you whatever your availability.
Some of our growing services needing additional volunteer support include:
- Carers’ Spa
- Bereavement Cafés
- Creative Keepsakes
- Found Poetry Workshops
- Seasons of My Life Art Workshops
If you’d like to find out more, we’d be delighted to hear from you. After an initial conversation with a member of our Volunteer Team, we’ll invite you to visit the hospice and meet our Head of Patient and Family Wellbeing Services to explore the opportunities available.
As part of the recruitment process, an Enhanced DBS check will be required for volunteers joining this team. (You may also like to see our Patient Driving role)
Come and be part of something truly meaningful. Your time, kindness and support can make a lasting difference.
