City Hospice is pleased to announce that it’s offering Free Wills to all its supporters during the months of January and February 2022!

The new year is always a good time for a sort out, and what better way to get your affairs in order than reviewing your existing will, or getting a new one put in place. City Hospice is offering free wills in January and February.

We understand that reviewing or writing your will is something many people put off, but by using one of our local partner solicitors or our online will provider, Guardian Angel, you can have peace of mind that you have looked after your loved ones once you are gone.

It’s easy to put off making a will, but it’s one of those important things we should all do. As well as making sure your loved ones are taken care of, many people also decide to leave a gift to charity, so the support for the causes they care about lives on as their legacy.

What happens if I don’t have a will in place when I die?

A person who dies without a will is called intestate. If this happens the government decide how your assets will be divided.

City Hospice Supporter Kim, tells us why she has made her will:

“One of the things that has been on my ever growing ‘to do’ list is writing our will. It’s the kind of thing that you always put off as it seems a difficult thing to want to face even talking about. As busy parents other things always became more important.

It wasn’t until our lives were touched by the sudden illness of a close family member that  I suddenly realised how important it is to ensure that everything is in place, should the worst happen. I am so relieved I made time to do this and was amazed how quick and simple it actually was. It’s done now and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that my wishes are clear and everything is place when it’s needed.  I can get on with enjoying life now.”

Consider a gift in your will to City Hospice

You are not obliged to leave a gift towards our work in your will, but of course, we do hope that once you’ve looked after your loved ones, you may consider leaving a gift to help us continue looking after patients in their own home across Cardiff.
