Spring Raffle 2026

Terms and Conditions

1. General

By entering this raffle you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. This raffle is run by City Hospice as a Small Society Lottery (No. SL0128) registered with Cardiff Council.

2. Promoter

The promoter is City Hospice, Whitchurch Hospital Grounds, Park Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff CF14 7BF.

City Hospice is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commission (Charity Number: 1023311).

3. Eligibility

  • Entry is open to residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales)
  • Tickets may not be sold to or by anyone under the age of 18.
  • Proof of age may be required before any prize is paid.
  • If a ticket is sold in error to a person under 18, the entry will be void, any prize forfeited and the entry payment refunded.
  • Tickets purchased on behalf of a person under 18 (including as a gift) are not valid.
  • Employees of City Hospice who are directly involved in organising or running this raffle, or in selecting winners, are not eligible to enter. All other employees may participate.

4. Entry and Ticket Limits

  • Tickets cost £1 per entry.
  • Each ticket represents one entry only.
  • A maximum of 100 tickets per person per draw may be purchased.
  • Purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a prize.

5. How to Enter

Entries may be made:

  • By returning a completed raffle form by post with appropriate payment;
  • In person or at events, with payment by debit card, credit card or cheque payable to City Hospice Trust;
  • Online via the City Hospice website, with payment by debit card only.

Your raffle numbers will be sent according to your preference – by post, by email, or you can opt not to receive a confirmation.

6. Payments

  • Online raffle entries must be paid for by debit card only. Credit card payments made online will be rejected and no entry will be created.
  • Credit card payments are accepted for in‑person ticket purchases only.
  • Cheques must be made payable to City Hospice Trust.

7. Raffle Numbers and Draw

  • To reduce paper use, physical raffle tickets will not be issued.
  • Each valid entry will be allocated a unique raffle number.
  • Raffle numbers and draw results will be recorded and documented.
  • The draw will be conducted using a random online generator.
  • Each winning raffle number is entitled to one prize only per draw. Once a raffle number has won a prize, that specific number is excluded from further draws. Any other raffle numbers held by the same entrant will remain in the draw.

8. Closing Date and Late Entries

  • Entries received after the published closing date will not be entered into the draw.
  • Any monies received after the closing date will be treated as a donation to City Hospice.

9. Prizes

The prizes for this draw are:

  • 1st prize: £2,000
  • 2nd prize: £500
  • 3rd prize: £250
  • 4th prize: £50
  • 20 prizes of £10

Other prizes:

There are no alternatives to the prizes offered and no interest is payable.

10. Winners and Notification

  • Winners will be notified by telephone where possible.
  • A list of winners will be published on the City Hospice website.
  • Winners must confirm the details required to receive their prize within 30 days of notification. If this does not happen, the prize will be redrawn.
  • Prizes will be paid by BACS transfer.
  • Any cheques not cashed within six months will be treated as unclaimed prizes and re‑credited to City Hospice’s main account.

11. Verification and Withholding of Prizes

City Hospice reserves the right to withhold payment of any prize until it is satisfied that:

  • The entrant has complied with these Terms and Conditions; and
  • The entrant is aged 18 or over.

If a winner cannot prove they meet the eligibility criteria, they will not receive the prize and the entry will be void.

12. Publicity

Winners may be asked whether they would like to provide a photograph or quote for promotional purposes. Participation is voluntary and not a condition of receiving a prize.

13. Use of Personal Data

We will use the personal data you provide to:

  • Process your raffle entry;
  • Verify your age, including carrying out random age‑verification checks, in order to meet our legal obligations under our Gambling Commission licence; and
  • Contact you if you win a prize.

Unless you tell us otherwise, we may also contact you occasionally with news and information about City Hospice.

15. Responsible Gambling
