City Hospice Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 – Fundraising Agreement
Thank you for joining Team City Hospice for the Cardiff Half Marathon. By taking one of our charity places, you’re helping us provide vital care and support for patients and families across Cardiff.
By accepting a charity place in the Cardiff Half Marathon, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility and Registration
-
You must be aged 17 or over on the date of the event (Sunday, 4th October 2026).
-
Once you receive confirmation of your charity place, you must also complete the official Run 4 Wales registration.
-
Your place is non-transferable and cannot be sold or passed to another person.
-
City Hospice reserves the right to refuse or withdraw a place in exceptional circumstances, including if a participant’s actions could damage the charity’s reputation or breach these terms.
2. Registration Fee
-
A £20 registration fee is required to secure your charity place.
-
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, even if you withdraw or do not take part in the event.
3. Fundraising Commitment
-
Each participant agrees to raise a minimum of £280 (excluding Gift Aid) for City Hospice.
-
If you are taking part as part of a team or company, the £280 target applies per runner, not per team.
-
This target helps cover the cost of your place and ensures your fundraising directly supports local hospice care.
Fundraising milestones
-
We ask that at least 50% (£140) is raised by six weeks before race day to help us cover upfront event costs.
-
The full £280 must be raised and paid to City Hospice within six weeks after the event.
-
Fundraising can be paid or transferred to City Hospice via:
-
An online fundraising platform such as JustGiving or Enthuse, or
-
Bank transfer, cash, or cheque made directly to City Hospice.
-
-
Gift Aid does not count toward your minimum fundraising total.
-
If you feel you may struggle to reach your target, please contact the fundraising team as soon as possible for guidance and support.
Communication and monitoring
-
City Hospice will make every reasonable effort to contact and support you in your fundraising journey.
-
However, if we do not receive any communication or see any fundraising progress by Monday 17th August 2026, we reserve the right to withdraw your charity place with no refund of the fee.
-
If this happens, you will be notified in writing.
4. Withdrawal
-
If you need to withdraw, you must notify City Hospice by Monday 17th August 2026.
-
After this date, we may not be able to reallocate your place, and we will still expect you to raise or contribute the minimum £280 to ensure the charity does not incur a loss from your charity place.
-
The £20 registration fee is non-refundable in all cases.
-
Any sponsorship already raised will be treated as a donation to City Hospice unless your donors request otherwise.
5. Fundraising Conduct
-
You agree to fundraise only in aid of City Hospice for this event.
-
You must comply with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and any guidance provided by City Hospice.
-
You must not:
-
Conduct door-to-door or unsolicited collections.
-
Collect in public places without the required permissions or licences.
-
Collect on private premises without the owner’s consent.
-
Organise raffles, lotteries, or public fundraising events without checking the legal requirements first.
-
6. Event Rules and Safety
-
You agree to follow all Run 4 Wales event rules and safety guidance.
-
You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit to take part. Please seek medical advice if you’re unsure.
-
You take part in the event at your own risk. City Hospice is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur as a result of participation.
7. Use of Images and Data
-
During the event, we may take photos or videos for use on City Hospice’s website, social media, and marketing materials. Please let us know if you prefer not to appear in these.
