Be Business Fit joined City Hospice as a pledge partner in December 2024. Sam Heighway, the founder, believes in creating confident and resilient leaders who create lasting impact.

Not only has Sam pledged to raise vital funds for City Hospice, she has also been working with our staff to deliver constructive lunch and learn sessions and 1 2 1 coaching, bringing valuable expertise to our work.

Sam Heighway, Be Business Fit, shared,

“Every now and then people come into your life, for just a short period of time and make a huge impact, on the difference that they make and your view on the world.

My Dad died from Prostate Cancer in late 2023 and it was his wish to die at home. As heartbreaking and difficult as the whole period was, it was made so much easier by having a fantastic palliative care team and the local hospice team there to support us, particularly as Dad’s needs were very complex.

The wonderful team touched our lives for just a few weeks, but the impact that they made to enable Dad to die with dignity and respect is something I will treasure forever and for which I will always be grateful.

Whilst Dad received wonderful care in Northampton where he lived, I have become aware of the incredible support that City Hospice offer in Cardiff, the city that I have lived in for the last 25 years, and the positive impact that they can have for families at such an emotional and challenging time.

This is why I have made the decision to support City Hospice, knowing that they too enable people to die in their preferred place surrounded by what they love.”
